Cambil Via Ferrata is a new addition to the network of via ferratas in the province of Jaén. Located in the municipality of Cambil, this route offers a unique experience that combines active tourism with mushroom-related tourism and nature. Opened in March 2025, the via ferrata is set on a rocky cliff to the west of the Mata-Bejid Visitor Centre. From the visitor centre car park, a 1,400-metre trail leads to the start of the ferrata, where the adventure begins.
The Cambil Via Ferrata is known for its three bridges of different lengths (13, 10 and 29 metres), which add an extra challenge, along with a mandatory 39-metre zip line and an 11-metre ladder. Along the way, participants will face slight overhangs and make use of the natural shapes of the rock to progress in a more organic way, adding a distinctive touch to the experience.
Thanks to its strategic location, the route offers spectacular views of Sierra Mágina Natural Park. Once you reach the highest part of the via ferrata, there is a flat area to rest before starting the zigzag descent across the meadow, weaving between rocks, until the final obstacle: an equipped descent down a ravine of around 50 metres, which takes you back to the base of the wall.
