The Guadalimar river is born at the foot of the Almenara hill, at a height of 1200 m, in the Alcaraz mountain range, in Albacete and goes towards the Sierras de Cazorla, Segura and las Villas Natural Park, and empties into the Guadalquivir river, in the municipal term of Torreblascopedro. It owes its name to the color of its waters, since Gualimar derives from wad al-Ihmar, "red river".

It crosses the Sierra de Cazorla, Segura and las Villas, collecting the waters of a multitude of streams and smaller rivers: its channel receives water from the Onsares, Guadalmena, Guadalén, Cortillas, Frio, Carrizas, Morles and Trujala rivers.

The river and its main tributaries have a slight slope and a rather low flow, but between its streams there are corners of spectacular beauty. Its waters calm down in the giribaile swamp, the second largest swamp in the province and where it is possible to fish for barbel, carp, black-bass and pike.

It delimits the term of Torreblascopedro by its entire northeast zone, giving rise to the typical riverside ecosystem and generating a fertile plain, characterized by the cultivation of cotton and wheat.

It is accessible by the JV-3003/4 and an obligatory crossing its bridge to go to Linares from our municipality.
