Calzada romana en la Via Augusta o Camino de Anibal

The Carthaginians called it Camino de Aníbal, later it was called Via Heráclea or Hercúlea. It was completed and modernized by order of the Roman Emperor Caesar Augustus, taking the name of Via Augusta.

The Calzada led from Cádiz to Rome. In modern times it was known as the Vereda Real or Camino Real. Below the Cemetery and in front of the Alfonso Medina farmhouse you can see a stone slab on the road that preserves the traces of Roman chariots engraved
