The Museum, promoted by the Diputación de Jaén, the Andalusian Regional Government Department of Agriculture, and developed by the Fundación del Olivar, is located within the Geolit ??Technological Park in Mengíbar, the heart of the Andalusian olive grove.

It has a permanent exhibition made up of modern interactive modules, audiovisuals, machinery and other types of scenery, on the olive grove, olive oil and sustainability. Terra Oleum is framed within the humid zone of the Quiebracántaros tributary, whose spring is born within the Museum's Centennial Olive Forest. The outdoor activities, from the olive harvest, to the recognition of native species in this natural space, are part of the essence of the center: the harmony with a humanized forest.

The auditorium becomes the central space for the events that take place in the Museum. It has the most advanced image and sound technology, equipped with electronic participation systems that allow a fluid exchange of knowledge with the visitor.

Terra Oleum also offers an extensive program of parallel activities that combines visits to the permanent exhibition with workshops, courses and seminars through proposals for all audiences.
