The elevation of Salfaraf is a residual relief of the tectonic unit of the tabular cover of the plateau that, as a witness hill, remains independent of the surroundings, creating a landscape landmark, with a large visual basin.

The topographic contrast with the surrounding terrain and the altitude it reaches, above 1000 m, make it easily identifiable.

Crowned by scrub formations and isolated feet of holm oak and wild olive trees, it is occupied almost up to its summit by olive groves that constitute the main use, being also remarkable the small game. From its peak there are interesting views of other landmarks such as the Guadalmena reservoir, the Yelmo or Segura de la Sierra.
