Las Atalayuelas

With highly studied archaeological sites, dating from the 2nd millennium BC. C. and that have allowed to reconstruct the oldest history, not only of this municipality, but of the region of the Northern Countryside of Jaén, since later it was giving shelter and defense to successive cultures until reaching the Roman, which demarcated its territory based on towers, among them those of Calvete or el Espino, and it restructured its urban planning in the Roman stage of the high empire, becoming recognized as a city with Vespasian.
