The Aptian of the Arroyo de los Anchos Fm is made up mainly of carbonates with an abundant fossil content. In addition there are intercalations of marl, sandstone and sand. The total power is 93 m. Especially striking are the banks with corals and the rudist levels.
The first of the banks with corals is located between meters 66 and 69 of the stratigraphic series, at its base some levels with small requirements can be found. On this level there are limestones with abundant orbitolins and milliolids; On the roof of some banks we can find cracks of desiccation and rizocreciones. The second level of corals is between 109 and 116 meters. At both levels they are massive corals, normally located in a life position. On the second level of corals there are sandstones and sands that have the first levels of rudists on top. The best outcrops of these organisms are found from meter 142 to the roof of the stratigraphic section.
