The Source of the Arbuniel River, also known as The Source of Water, is located on the slopes of Mount Torre de Gallarín, in the surroundings of the urban area of Arbuniel (Cambil), within the Sierra Mágina region.

It is one of the most abundant and important springs in Sierra Mágina, being the pride of the Arbuñelenses. Although the water gushes through limestone rocks and liasic dolomites of an aquifer, it has a marked saline character because it arises in marl with Triassic gypsum.

The course of the river is channeled in a multitude of ditches that give wealth to the lands of the municipality and irrigate many hectares of land. Formerly it gave impulse to flour and oil mills, while today it is used to irrigate the olive grove, the true economic engine of the area.

The space has a magnificent picnic area with barbecues, benches, tables, wastebaskets, a small bar and children's play area, where you can spend a pleasant day surrounded by nature and where you can take advantage of the freshness of the place and the shadows of the trees.

At the source of the Arbuniel you can see ducks and crayfish, which inhabit its channel thanks to the large amount of lime in its waters, and abundant trout.
