It stands on a 13th century Arab fortress. It has been continuously reformed since the 15th century, when it was dedicated to Christian worship.
It is built in whitewashed masonry and exposed ashlar masonry, and the complex has a basilica plan with semi-circular arches on quadrangular pillars with chamfered corners.
Inside the Hermitage you can admire, along with the elegance of its three naves, the altar and the paintings of the Camarín de la Virgen, the work of the artist Palma Burgos, said Camarín is located in the keep and is covered by a vault half an orange on pendentives. In addition, we can see the magnificent ceiling, remodeled in 1999, which evokes the old and original Mudejar wooden coffered ceiling, which had sunk in the 18th century.
From the outside you can see the structure of the tower that belonged to the Arab fortress, for its adaptation openings and loopholes were blocked. In 1781 the bell tower was erected and in the middle of the 20th century the belfry.
