The Guadalimar river is a river in southern Spain, a tributary of the Guadalquivir river that rises at the foot of the Sarga peak (1770 masl), in the Alcaraz mountain range, in the province of Albacete, the result of the confluence of several streams in the surroundings of Villaverde de Guadalimar. It contributes its waters to the Guadalquivir in the municipality of Jabalquinto (province of Jaén).

It receives the Onsares, Guadalmena and Guadalén rivers to the right. On the left to the Cotillas, Arroyo Frío, Carrizas, Morles, Trujala rivers and the Peñolite stream. On its way it crosses the Sierra de Segura.

In Roman times it was called the Tago, Tagus or Tugio river, just as its source was the Sierra de Tugia. Its name in Arabic "wad al-ihmar" which means "red river", which is curiously how it is called by the area, due to the red color of its waters.
