In the municipality of Martos more than 60% of the plants are over 200 years old. In this forest of olive trees, the so-called Centennial Olive Trees stand out. By oral tradition it is known that some of the olive trees located in Llano de Motril are over 500 years old. This enclave is located just over 1 km from the town of Martos, at the foot of the road from Martos to Santiago de Calatrava. It occupies an extension of 84 hectares, with 5,394 centenary trees, some of them real living sculptures. It is a fully productive olive grove, with an average of 150 kg per tree.
