Place of special scenic interest whose uniqueness lies in the presence of a riverside forest, a rich birdlife and elements of enormous geological value, as well as the remains of a bridge and a road from Roman times.
The “El Piélago Natural Monument” is located north of the municipality of Linares. To get there you have to follow the A-312 regional road towards Arquillos, once past the Vadollano Station we find a detour to the left -Vilches- that takes us directly to the place.
It is an enclave of special scenic and historical interest, since the beauty of the Guarrizas river route is joined by the existence of the Roman bridge of Vadollano, which is part of the Via Augusta route.
A little further down the Roman bridge, we find the ruins of what was once a chocolate factory, which used the motive force of the river water to generate energy.
