La Toba

Santiago-Pontones. Del puente de la Huelga Utrera a la ermita del pantano de Las Anchuricas.. , Santiago Pontones

The river Segura, the same river that bathes the Murcian orchards, gushes, like the Guadalquivir, from the bowels of the Cazorla, Segura and Las Villas Natural Park. It is born at 1,413 meters of altitude in a flooded natural cave of Fuente Segura, next to the Pinar del Risco. The village of La Toba, an ideal place to forget about the office and the pre-frozen kitchen, presides over the steepest and highest area of the Sierra de Segura. From the balconies of its white houses, between which a small stream runs with washing basins, you can see the almost linear flow of a river of moderate flow and decline, with limestone and clogged soils.

Note: The permit to fish in all the outlined Jaen reserves is issued at the Cazorla Park Office (953.720102), except Guadalentín and Peralta (Pozo Alcón Town Hall) and Madera Bajo and La Toba (Santiago Pontones Town Hall).
