Calle San Fernando, 0. 23338, Iznatoraf How to get

The original name of this temple was that of Santa María de Iznatoraf, of whose existence there is documentary evidence already at the beginning of the fourteenth century, specifically in the year 1311. It is very likely that this old church is the largest mosque in the Muslim medina that it sacred after the conquest Bishop Rodrigo Jiménez de Rada together with Fernando III El Santo. In the 16th century the current church was built whose works began in 1583 and ended in 1591, with small additions that were completed in 1602. Alonso Barba, a disciple of Andrés de Vandelvira, is in charge of the factory. White stone brought from neighboring Sorihuela del Guadalimar and pine wood from the Sierra de Segura were used in its construction, with Felipe II himself contributing to the construction.

The church consists of a hall plan (in German Hallenkirchen) three naves separated by four solid pillars, the central nave being the widest, it is covered with vaulted vaults in the center and at the corners, the remaining vaults being edge, consist of all of a remarkable and delicate Mannerist decoration that heralds the end of the Renaissance and the beginning of the Baroque. The main chapel, which stands out for its great breadth, is a rectangular space that is covered with a half-orange vault on pendentives with the shield of the Bishop of Jaén, Sancho Dávila Toledo. You can see the image of the owner of the parish in a temple from the 60s that replaces the old altarpiece lost due to the religious persecution of the Civil War, and paintings from the first years of the 21st century. At the foot of the temple is the baroque style choir stalls, of great beauty and quality, and one of the best in the province. The sacristy stands out with its drawers linked to Esteban Jamete, beautiful suits from the 16th century and Eucharistic vessels
