Puente Renacentista
23770, Marmolejo How to get
It is one of the most important historical-artistic landmarks of Marmolejo, next to the Parish Church of Nuestra Señora de la Paz and the Spa with medicinal waters that flow along the same riverbed of the Guadalquivir River. Precisely a bridge and a spa linked their existence since the therapeutic utility of the waters of these springs was discovered at the end of the 18th century (whose first news appears in the Treatise on the main medicinal sources of Andalusia, Juan de Dios Ayuda, 1794) and they began to build the first facilities. But before thousands of bathers turned this quiet place into bustling, there was already an architectural element in the environment: the Bridge of San Bartolomé, possibly called this way because it was inaugurated on the day of this Saint's name day, August 24.
