This day they eat in most houses the porridge of August, made with flour, water, pepper and tomato. It is a popular belief that by eating very hot porridge in the middle of summer, you will keep warm throughout the winter, especially during the olive harvest. In the olive harvest whoever is cold has not eaten the porridge on August 1. Today, a porridge-making contest is held in the Natural Park of Hútar, during a festive and convivial day for all those who do not want to spend the winter cold.
