Towards the 18th century he built the hermitage of the Virgen de Atocha on the remains of a cemetery. Regarding its appearance, we do not know exactly what the date and year were, but its appearance is related to the appearance of the Virgin of Atocha in Madrid, since both refer to the Virgin herself.

The story goes back long ago, as oral tradition said that one day the great Lady appeared where her hermitage is today. Seeing the people that the Virgin of Atocha was in Madrid, they decided to return her to the capital of Spain. She appeared again in that place and they took her back to Madrid and so on until they decided to leave her here because it seemed that she did not want to leave Villardompardo, and that is how her hermitage was built. Over the years, all the villagers adore her and have great faith in her.
