It responds to a medieval project, still visible in the sacristy and high altar. Most of its current configuration is made in the 16th century, with the participation of the architects, Francisco del Castillo "El Viejo" and Francisco Castillo "El Mozo". In its bell tower the shield belonging to the bishop of the Diocese of Jaén is located. Inside it houses the Cristo de la Vera Cruz (16th century).
