“King Felipe III reigns in Spain. The town of Pegalajar ordered this work to be done in 1605.?

The lack of water in recent years led to the implementation in 2007 of the extraction plan from its aquifer to recover the spring and undertake measures aimed at its value as a local development resource.

The complex made up of the Fuente de la Reja, the Charca and the Huerta de Pegalajar is an essential part of the historical-cultural-economic heritage of Pegalajar, as recognized by its declaration as a Place of Ethnological Interest made by the Ministry of Culture of the Junta de Andalusia.
