Located at the top of the Castillo hill, it offers beautiful views of the entire town of Vilches. The Castle of Vilches was located on this hill, of which few remains are preserved today due to the construction of the church of Santiago - and later the Hermitage - on its parade ground.

The Hermitage houses the image of the patron saint of Vilches, who is taken down in procession every August 14 to the parish of San Miguel on the occasion of the celebration of the festivities to which it gives its name.
