The Hermitage of Cristo del Humilladero or Cristo Chico is from the 18th century, in the Baroque style. The portal of the hermitage has an opening in which the main entrance is framed with a semicircular arch, it is crowned with a pediment with molding. It is covered with gabled and has a porch that serves as an anteroom to the hermitage, with lowered arches. On the right side it has a belfry. The main altar, also from the 18th century and in the Baroque style, is in perfect condition. The dimensions of the altar are 3.20 × 5.40 meters.
It has a single body, with a small niche in the center with a semicircular arch, in which the Cristo del Humilladero appears. Everything is decorated with polychrome wood motifs, in the upper niche is the Virgen del Pilar.
The Cristo del Humilladero arrived in Lopera in 1941 and is the work of the Valencian image maker Amadeo Ruiz Olmos. The hermitage is closed practically all year round, the Loperanos and visitors who come close to it, make their prayers through a small window. In 1761 the soldadesca del Santísimo Cristo del Humilladero is founded, it is characteristic of this soldadesca, the fluttering of flags during the procession of his Christ and the firing of salvos. The fair and festivities of the Christs in honor of the Christ of Veracruz and Christ of the Humilladero has been held since 1628. The processional cross of Christ is a replica, the original is in the sacristy of the parish, it was donated by the Peláez family.
