This hermitage is entrusted with a new plant to Don José Gallego y Oviedo del Portal, the main master of the work of the Cathedral of Jaén. For its construction it was necessary the economic contribution of the Council and contributions of the faithful.
At present, the hermitage has the chapel of the Patron, which is square in plan, raises four arcosolios that form the pendentives on which the vault stands, covering all surfaces (tympanums, rear and intrados of arches and intrados of the vault ) with fresco paintings where the main element is the sinuous and undulating stem somewhat rococo, either masking backgrounds with the figures of the Evangelists on the pendentives, or musical angels on the vault; this pictorial jewel is due to Espantaleón.
In addition to the dressing room, there are six magnificent altarpieces in which different saints are located.
