Ermita de San Francisco

Monument

Paseo fuente mayor. 23658, Jamilena How to get

It was ordered to be built by Felipe Martínez Garrido, Jamilena's wealthy owner, in the 1910s. It is a voluminous building, whose façade and layout are inspired by the late Spanish-American Baroque. Its architecture takes as its main references some constructions made in the city of Andújar during the first third of the 20th century. Inside it are kept several canvases of great value, among which a painting from the 17th century stands out where the Franciscan San Francisco Solano is represented. This painting is the only canvas that is found on this Cordoba saint in the province of Jaén.
