Castillo Chiclana de Segura

At the top, standing out among the hamlet, the ruins of the castle, dominating and solitary, are an obligatory reference of the intensity of its first historical vicissitudes, but also of the urban configuration of the municipality. Located at the highest point of the environment, it was a privileged place of surveillance for centuries. From that castle, a dialectical synthesis of the Muslim and the Christian after being conquered by Ferdinand III, there are evocations of the solidity of its already ruined canvases of walls, its spiral staircase with a false door, dogs, a library cupboard and even a cellar to store the most generous Manchego wines.

The ruins of this castle were declared a Site of Cultural Interest in 1985.
