The Museo Cerezo Moreno de Villargordo is located in the building of the old town hall, presiding over the main square of the town. It is a monographic museum dedicated to the local painter Francisco Cerezo Moreno, where more than 150 of his works are displayed.

Francisco Cerezo is a figurative painter and one of the best contemporary still life painters. The exhibition also highlights the La Granja Crystal Collection, the most important after that of the La Granja de San Ildefonso Museum in Segovia.

A very prolific painter, at the end of his life he kept a large amount of his work on his property, at which time he offered his entire collection to the town of Villargordo on the condition that a permanent exhibition be mounted with it.

The museum has five rooms, two on the ground floor and three on the first. One of the rooms is dedicated to other painters from Jaén and it exhibits works by several generations of authors, all of them linked to the owner of the museum. The other rooms are dedicated to landscape, portraiture, still life and Segura de la Sierra, a town in Jaén where Francisco Cerezo studied and where he made a large part of his work, especially landscapes of the mountains and miniature tables reminiscent of painting. of the primitive flamingos.

In the showcases of the rooms an important collection of glass pieces from the Granja de San Ildefonso is displayed, in the same way owned by the painter, of enormous importance, both for the quantity and the quality of the pieces.
