Viewpoint of Las Majadillas

Singular places

0, Marmolejo

Halfway on the trail to the 'Centenera', on the State-owned mountain 'El Baldío'. From the viewpoint of 'Las Majadillas', contrasting types of landscape may be admired: to one side there are olive tree groves and irrigated orchards (near the Guadalquivir river) and, to the other side, rugged landscapes covered with holm oaks (Quercus ilex) amidst Mediterrean woodland. In the distance we can make out Marmolejo, a town renowned for its spa-hotel and medicinal water springs, recommended for renal and digestive conditions. To the right of Marmolejo, in-between mountains, we can catch a glimpse of the river Guadalquivir. But we should turn our eyes away from the magnificence of these views and contemplate eagles flying majestically across the sky.
