The Festivity of Santa Bárbara, patron saint of miners, aims to recover an old anniversary that took place every December 4 in our city.

Every year, the Tourism and Historical Heritage areas of the Linares City Council are pleased to invite you to this festival that, as in the past, brought together the mining community of both Linares and the rest of the Northern Region of Jaén: mining workers, businessmen , engineers, students of the College of Mines and students of the Polytechnic University School.

Maderistas from all over the Mining District came to compete in the famous contest that awarded the best cover erected in less time. Each edition, we will be able to enjoy an exhibition related to this extinct profession so important to ensure the stability of the galleries. Similarly, geology lovers will be able to contemplate authentic treasures of our Mother Earth at the Mineral Fair.

All this is being possible thanks to groups and citizens who, in a selfless way, contribute to making all this type of initiative come true; as the celebration of this icon of our Intangible Heritage.
