Cortijo el Moralejo

0, Valdepeñas de Jaén

We are in front of one of the best points of the whole Starlight Reserve of the Sierra Sur of Jaén. Note: it is necessary to use a 4x4 vehicle to access this point, however it is worth it as you will reach the bottom of a large valley surrounded by hills and mountains that hide the few traces of light pollution. From this point the darkness and purity of the sky is exquisite.

To get there, simply follow the signs to the Quejigo del Amo Natural Monument from Valdepeñas de Jaén. After just 1.5 km, a track descends to the right, and after a little over 2 km you will come to an old ruined farmhouse in the middle of a wide esplanade.

The horizon is wide, although it is true that the mountains cut a little into the sky. This is a top class place for the most demanding enthusiasts.
This observation point is located at more than 1,100 metres above sea level and at the bottom of the valley, with outstanding seeingy-dark conditions.
