This church is located in the most emblematic space of the medieval and Renaissance city, in the square that bears its name. Its construction lasted more than three centuries, from 1467 to 1624. Of Gothic origins, it has a hall plan, pillars and ribbed vaults at the feet. In the 16th century, an important railings were forged and a new Renaissance-style façade to Calle Feria. In this same century the tower was built, made of brick and Mudejar decoration, which was completed in the following century. The interior was covered with vaulted vaults in the mannerist style. The dome of the Main Chapel is covered with beautiful wall paintings from the s. XVII. In the chapel of the "Count" five splendid neo-Gothic stained glass windows stand out. The main piece of this church is El Greco's painting "The Prayer in the Garden", which is kept in the chapel of Don Luis de Valdivia.
