The House of the Inquisition is a historic building located in the old part of the city. It is a three-story building whose interior is completely modified from the original structure. It must have been built between the 16th and 17th centuries. Its façade is preserved, including the railings, and the ascent of stairs, ornamented by various shields of the Holy Office of the Inquisition and a ponteado cross. Having ruled out that within its walls the inmates accused of crimes against the faith were given torment and torture, the house hosted the meetings and debates of the Villacarrillo court and, perhaps, the fulfillment of the lighter sentences, imposed by the provincial courts.
