Program

Declared "Well of National Tourist Interest of Andalusia", the commonly known as "The Fiestas" of Bailén "has become the largest fair for the municipality.

Since 1817 and annually from July 17 to 22, the Battle of Bailén is commemorated with a set of civic-military events, the day of maximum splendor being the 19th, as the anniversary of the historical event and the 20th, day in which the Patron Saint, the Virgin of Zocueca, goes through the main streets of Bailén in procession, wearing on her chest the band and the Great Cross of San Fernando offered by General Castaños, as a gesture of her veneration and filial love for the mother of God.

This celebration annually has the participation of the company of the Army of Córdoba, which parades and honors the memory of those who fell in the Battle of 1808, while keeping in mind those of the defeated side with a sense of friendship and brotherhood between nations.

The local authority, represented by the Mayor, takes advantage of the occasion offered by the “Fiestas” to invite Ambassadors and Representatives from other countries that have had a certain role alongside Spain, with the desire for a sincere friendship.
