Visita "Del Olivar al Plato"

The visit is structured around three carefully designed moments to discover the world of extra virgin olive oil from an educational, sensory perspective closely linked to the territory.

We begin with an interpretive tour of the Sierra Mágina Olive Oil Interpretation Centre, a space managed by the Designation of Origin that introduces visitors to olive grove culture and the value of EVOO in the region. Through the educational exhibition “From the Olive Grove to the Plate”, you will learn about the olive grove landscape, olive cultivation and the importance of this tradition in the economic, social and cultural life of Sierra Mágina.

Next, the experience explores the olive oil production process in greater depth, explaining each of its stages in a clear and engaging way: from caring for the fruit in the field to extraction, conservation and the final quality of the oil. During the visit, visitors can understand how factors such as harvesting, milling and storage influence the production of an excellent oil, as well as learning to distinguish different qualities and gain a better understanding of its uses in gastronomy.

To finish, the experience can be completed with complementary activities such as guided tastings and visits to olive groves and olive mills in the area, a perfect opportunity to continue discovering the aromas, nuances and unique qualities of the oils protected by the Sierra Mágina Designation of Origin and to connect more directly with the territory where they are produced.
