Gachas dulces
Sweet gachas are a traditional dessert from Cabra del Santo Cristo, especially linked to All Saints’ Day. It is a simple recipe deeply rooted in popular pastry-making, prepared with milk infused with lemon and cinnamon, which gives it a warm and distinctive aroma.
Its preparation begins by toasting the flour with anise seeds in Sierra Mágina PDO extra virgin olive oil, creating a flavourful base. The infused milk is then added, and the mixture is stirred slowly until it thickens and becomes creamy. It is traditionally served with sugared croutons and a touch of cinnamon on top.
A humble, aromatic spoon dessert closely connected to family celebrations and autumn recipes.
