Stewed spinach

Stewed spinach is a traditional dish from Bedmar y Garcíez, especially linked to Lent. It is a simple and flavourful recipe made with spinach sautéed together with a crushed mixture of bread, garlic and dried red pepper, which gives the stew body and flavour.

In the final boil, egg is added and lightly set, completing this spoon dish so closely connected to home cooking and seasonal recipes. Sierra Mágina PDO extra virgin olive oil adds identity and reinforces this preparation’s link with the area’s traditional gastronomy.
