Some experiences are remembered for what they teach, while others are remembered for what they allow us to live. At Cortijo Las Huertas, this proposal brings both dimensions together, inviting you to become part of the olive grove cycle, from the roots to the final result.

The day begins with an introduction to the culture of extra virgin olive oil, understanding its importance in the landscape and in the life of Sierra Mágina. Very soon, visitors move from observing to taking part: with tools in hand, they begin harvesting olives directly from the tree, learning about varieties, cultivation systems and both traditional and modern techniques.

This direct contact with the olive grove allows visitors to understand the effort, rhythm and knowledge behind each harvest. It is an experience that connects with the land in an authentic way, in a setting of gentle hills and olive groves overlooking the valley.

After the harvest, the tour continues at the 1941 hydraulic mill, where the origins of the process are discovered, before moving on to the modern olive mill to learn how olives are transformed into EVOO today, from extraction to bottling.

The experience is completed with a tasting of products made with extra virgin olive oil, closing the circle between work, tradition and flavour.
