Program

The celebrations around the festivity of Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes, the patron saint of Alcalá la Real, are centenary, and date back to the 17th century. For centuries there has been news of popular celebrations, with theatrical activities, concerts, recitals, games ... But under the current concept of festivals we have to move to the seventies, of the last century, from the recovery of the La Mota site to the present of the city.

In this special setting, and in others in the urban area, such as the Martínez Montañés Theater, a varied program of cultural and festive activities takes place every year, which is enhanced by the return of those who are absent and the arrival of numerous visitors.
