ACCEDER

Fiestas de Santa Clara de Asís

August

Program

The festivities take place around the days that follow and precede August 11, the day of the Virgin's name day. Sports competitions, musical performances and festivals are the acts that make up the festivities. The intervention of Santa Clara during an epidemic was decisive for the eradication of the evil. This popular belief led to a fervor in the people of Lahiguera towards this Marian dedication and that she was named Patroness of the town in 1251.

On August 9 there was a beer tasting and a tapas contest. At 11 pm the popular festival begins, enlivened by an orchestra and where the citizens of Lahiguera dance until dawn. On the 10th, numerous activities are carried out for the little ones and at night the popular festival begins again with dances and enlivened by an orchestra.
On the 11th, the day of Santa Clara and Local Festival, the Eucharist is held in honor of the patron saint and her image is processed through the streets of the town. In the current night, the Rociero Choir and Musical Groups of the Town and the Festivities close with the Foam Festival.
