Festividad de Todos Los Santos
30th of October
Program
It is undoubtedly one of the most deeply rooted festivals in Baños, it takes place on Saints' Day, at the beginning of November, where men and also women, forming groups or "partías", leave the town and go to small farmhouses. or huts in the mountains, where they spend several days and nights, hunting birds with "liria", sharing bread, wine and jokes.
The origin of this custom has been seen in the fact that for Los Santos and for the Day of the Dead the church bells did not stop ringing neither day nor night, with the consequent heartbreak, which was forgotten by the men of the town leaving where the bells were not heard, thus celebrating a "wake" with abundant food and drink for those who were alive present there, than for those who had already left this world, whose souls and prayer The women who remained in the village were in charge of them.
