This route begins close to Pilarillo Forest House and ends at Peñalta peak. For much of the way it passes through forests of European black pine, beneath which is a dense undergrowth of holm oak, kermes oak, gall oak, cistus and aromatic plants such as rosemary, thyme and lavender. Broom can be found in the rockier areas.
