Visita al Castillo y Recinto Amurallado de Jódar
The visit is structured as a guided tour that allows visitors to discover the history of one of the most emblematic fortresses in Sierra Mágina and to learn first-hand about its military, social and architectural value over the centuries.
We begin at the Historical Interpretation Centre of Jódar Castle, a museum space that introduces visitors to the past of this fortress, considered one of the oldest in Andalusia. Through interpretive panels and exhibition content, the visit offers an overview of the castle’s origins, its defensive evolution and its importance within the territory.
Next, the experience continues with a guided tour of the castle and the walled enclosure, where its main architectural elements and strategic role at different moments in history are explained. During the itinerary, visitors can understand how this fortress formed an essential part of local life, both from a military and social point of view, and how its presence has shaped the identity of Jódar up to the present day.
To finish, the visit invites visitors to contemplate the site as a place where heritage and history come together to tell the story of the evolution of the town and its surroundings. It is an ideal experience to discover the monumental legacy of Jódar in an enjoyable, contextualised and accessible way for all audiences.
