2023 Paragliding World Cup

The 2023 Paragliding World Cup turned Pegalajar into an international benchmark for free flight, with the Siete Pilillas site as its main setting. For several days, this enclave in Sierra Mágina Natural Park brought together pilots and paragliding enthusiasts in a high-level sporting event, marked by the scenic value and natural conditions of the surroundings.

From 1 to 5 May, the first event of the national paragliding calendar was held as a prelude to the European Championship that took place in Pegalajar in 2024. Then, from 6 to 13 May, the municipality hosted the Paragliding World Cup, consolidating the Siete Pilillas take-off area as one of the most outstanding locations for practising this sport.

Organised with the collaboration of Jaén Provincial Council, Pegalajar Town Council and the Pegalajar Paragliding Club, the event brought together sport, nature and international visibility, strengthening Pegalajar’s image as a key destination for paragliding.
