Jaén Paraíso Interior reinforces its position as an authentic inland destination at FITUR 2026

This edition was marked by the sobriety and respect following the railway accident in Adamuz, which led to the suspension of the institutional events planned for the professional days of Wednesday and Thursday. However, the province has maintained its presence in the pavilion of Andalusia and has resumed its agenda from Friday, strengthening contacts, visibility and opportunities in a national and international context.

Throughout the fair, Jaén has shown a destination that is lived from many looks: nature and active tourism in its protected spaces, culture and heritage with proposals linked to municipalities and major references, and an agenda of events that drives tourism activity throughout the year.

The participation of municipalities and entities of the territory has made it possible to move a cohesive and dynamic image, adding cultural, musical and festive initiatives, together with actions related to astronomical tourism and the value of local resources capable of attracting both professionals and the general public.

Overall, FITUR has been a window to continue to position Jaén as a reference for indoor tourism, with its own identity and a story connected to its landscape, traditions and way of hosting.

Oils and gastronomy: Jaén as a taste, culture and experience

The gastronomy, and especially the Extra Virgin Olive Oil, has played a leading role during FITUR 2026 as an identity sign of the province and as an engine for oleoturism.

One of the central moments has been the delivery of the distinctiveJaén Selección 2026to the eight AOVEs recognized this year, a seal that distinguishes excellence and accompanies the tourist and gastronomic promotion of the province in national and international actions throughout 2026.

In addition, the gastronomic activity has been transferred to the public through experiences of dissemination and tasting, with proposals in the showcooking area focused on oleoturism, including the tasting of AOVE with Jaén Oil PGI, and specific actions such as the tasting of early harvest AOVE by the Cooperative City of Jaén. A direct way to connect product and territory, showing why oil is not only tested: it is also understood, shared and converted to travel.

Activities in FITUR

During the fair, various presentations and promotional actions have been developed with the participation of entities and municipalities of the territory:
• Provincial Council of Jaén, with the delivery of the distinctive Jaén Selección 2026 to the eight AOVEs recognized this year. In addition, in the showcooking area, the proposal "The gastronomy of oleoturism" and a tasting of AOVE with PGI Aero de Jaén were made.
• Jaén City Council, with the presentation of the Oleoturistic Innovation Centre of the Olives Landscapes of Andalusia, and the dissemination of cultural initiatives such as Oleosónica Music Fest and the Jaén program does not sleep in summer. He also made an early-harvest AOVE showcooking and tasting by the Jaén City Cooperative.
• Peal de Becerro City Council, which presented cultural initiatives such as Festival Iberojoven 2026, the murals of the Open Air Museum and the Peal cycle in Spring, with the collaboration of the Diputación.
• City Council of Ubeda and Carmelitas Descalzos de Ubeda, with the presentation of the Jubilee Year of San Juan de la Cruz and its cultural and tourist programming.
• Ubeda, with the participation of the Band of Corneas and Tambores Christ of Penalties and the 25th anniversary of the Gastronomical Days in the Ubeda Renaissance.
• The steps of Fuensana, as a proposal linked to the tradition and cultural heritage of the territory.
• Sabiote City Council, with the promotion of the Middle Ages.
• Cazorla City Council, with the promotion of the International Theatre Festival, and astrotourism actions under the motto "Cazorla, the universe begins here."
