Description
In the old town of Jaén, since the 15th century, there was a great hospital called St. John of God. Thanks to the private donations and the patronage of the Municipal Council, this health institution became, over time, one of the longest hospitals in Spanish history, and the largest single hospital in Jaén. For several centuries, he obtained the merit and honour of being a true care model that managed to spread throughout the Spanish monarchy.
