“Toros Ensogados”, the Mountain Bullfighting Tradition

Description

The festivities of San Marcos are a popular bullfighting event, in the “toro ensogado” (roped bull) format, held in both Arroyo del Ojanco and Beas de Segura. Its main attraction is the release of almost a hundred fighting bulls on ropes through the streets of both towns. Its wide reach at national and international level, together with the huge number of visitors it attracts, led to its designation as Festivities of National Tourist Interest of Andalusia.
