Technical Description

It runs parallel to the Cañamares River in its high stretch. The march was just started by the Tisantia, a group of traditional architecture Cortijos. The sound of the water is present throughout the course as the Cañamares River is a permanent channel and in this stretch it is located in a deep valley of very tilted walls.
The path offers good views of the cut-off that the River has caused by eroding the limestone. It traverses areas of traditional orchards, olive trees and above all forest land of the Natural Park. For a large part of its route it coincides with the remains of waterfalls that gave irrigation to the orchards and moved the mills that appear on both sides of the River such as that of Gris or Enmedio and the Mill of Upstairs.
We must be careful because part of the journey is dangerous because of the narrow, high and pending steps. We must not leave the path and we will help ourselves with the security elements: bridges, walkways, walkways and stairs. The gap between the beginning and the end is 150 m, although in due course on the path there appear strong slopes, of little length, and even equipped with natural vegetation is very abundant and provides shade throughout the year.
It appears a gallery forest with chopos, strawberries, almeros and willows as well as other indigenous plant formations with madroños, agracejos, durillos, olvillas, pines and rosemary. As an important plant formation to highlight the ancient Mediterranean forest (lauroid forest) made up of thick formations of madroño, durillo andmirtus communis(look), the latter is the only witness throughout the park. Among the fauna, we can meet with the otter, the fishing martin, the galapagos and the common trout and even the indigenous crab in one of its last reductions.
