On 19 September, from 10:00 pm, the area around Berrueco Castle, in Torredelcampo, will host a new stargazing activity inviting visitors to discover the night sky from one of the most distinctive historic sites in the Sierra Sur. The event is part of an initiative promoting experiences linked to the area's heritage and landscape. The castle, declared a Site of Cultural Interest, offers an ideal setting for stargazing thanks to its elevated location and the low light pollution in the surrounding area. During the session, participants will be able to identify constellations, learn about the mythology associated with each one, observe the planets visible at this time of year, and understand how the night sky served as an essential point of reference for the cultures that once inhabited these lands. The activity is aimed at the general public and families, and combines science outreach with the promotion of historical heritage. The aim is to make astronomy accessible in a relaxed way, closely linked to the local area, strengthening the province of Jaén's offering of cultural and nature-based leisure.
