4th Centenary of the Town Charter of Baños de la Encina (1626-2026)

In 2026, Baños de la Encina celebrates four centuries since one of the most significant milestones in its history: the granting of Town Charter status in 1626, decisive for the town's political, social and economic development. This anniversary offers a unique opportunity to rediscover the identity of Baños, its exceptional heritage, and the collective memory that has shaped the town over the centuries.

During these days, the town is offering a special programme combining historical outreach, cultural activities and community gatherings. Talks, re-enactments, heritage trails and participatory activities will help explain the significance of that charter and its impact on daily life at the time, as well as on the later development of Baños de la Encina.

The 4th Centenary invites residents and visitors to look back on the past with pride and to celebrate a legacy that remains alive in its streets, in its centuries-old castle, and in the hospitable character of its people. A commemoration that honours history while looking forward to the future of one of the province's most distinctive towns.
