Description
The Iznatoraf wall, declared well of cultural interest, was an imposing fortification from which only two fortines and five doors remain. One is the bow of the Pozo de la Nieve, located on Cava Street; another is located in the town square, next to the church of the Asunción, and is called the Arrabal gate. The Muslim route of the wall, built on previous settlements, had eleven fortines and nine arches, in what was its moment of maximum splendor. After the Reconquista and the loss of interest of the municipality as a defensive bastion, the local economy's struggle led the neighbors of Iznatoraf to abandon the protection of the walls and to settle in the surroundings. Abandoned the castle in the 17th century, its armchairs and those of the wall were gradually grass of the building, to build houses.
