"Gold of Canava" oils was born in 1976 in Jimena with the illusion and desire of 75 farmers who sought to be more cost-competitive and with a firm commitment to obtain an Extra-differentiated Virgin Olive Oil.
Today 45 years later, with 750 olive growers We can say that these values remain intact but the techniques have been refined to optimize the processes, supported by the rigorous internal controls as by those carried out by the Protected Name of Origin "Sierra Magina" of which we are members.
We are in the heart of Sierra Magina (Jaén)), a mountainous area that makes our liquid gold different along the 3,300 hectares of olive tree that are protected under our mason.
We have an average production of 16-17 million kilograms of olive developing the great amount in the months of November and December to get an Extra Virgin with differentiated attributes and valuing the quality of the fruit.
Our variety of olives is Picual, one of the most healthy in the market and that makes it the most consumed in our country due to its herbaceous aroma and its intense taste. Therefore, this variety is the favorite of consumers looking for a very pure and natural oil taste.
For the last 10 years "Gold of Canava" oils has obtained numerous awards as winner of the Ministry of Agriculture award 2021, recognized with 5 awards "Jaén Selección" being the cooperative that has the most awards of the Jiennese province and valued as the best winery of the D.O.P. "Sierra Magina" 2021, in 2020 we have obtained the highest international recognition, the first prize of the contest "Mario Solinas" 2020 in the Intense Green Frutado mode granted by the highest Oliva Oil Agency, the International Oleicola Council (IOC) as the best AOVE in the world.
The awards are a distinguishing seal to support the high quality of our traditional olive tree, which at present cannot compete in prices with other types of cultivation.
How future The almazara and its cooperativists are clear that working daily for an extra-differentiated Virgin Olive Oil, pampering each moment of its production and sale as well as betting on synergies in purchases and sales at the general level will continue to increase the benefit at the social and economic level.
