Iberian Lynx observation route (with access to a private estate)

Description

We offer you a 4x4 guided tour by local experts with great knowledge of the territory, with the intention to see the most threatened feline in the world, of which there are only just over 1100 copies left around the world: the Iberian Lince.

During the tour, we will be able to know as interesting aspects as their habitat, biology, behavior, observe the conservation actions that have been carried out for their recovery and make waiting in different areas to try to observe it. The Sierra de Andújar is the largest population core of the species, one of the best places to see it. In addition, we will try to find traces, prints and signs that indicate their presence in passing areas.

The day begins at dawn, with the aim of locating the different species that this corner of Sierra Morena offers us. To do this, you can choose to combine public areas with private areas, or to do all the activity inside the private estate.

The itinerary can be adapted to the different species that the visitor wishes to observe, although usually we begin by visiting the Sierra de Andújar Natural Park to discover the world of the nuances, the Iberian imperial eagle or the black and leonate vultures, which already in the middle of the morning lift their flight taking advantage of the thermal currents. Our guides will advise you the best option at every moment.

Later, we will move quietly through the best lynch territories, which are also for different mammals such as deer, wowls, muflons or boar.

Dehesas of oak, alcornoques, pyruetans, bazos, jaras, madroños, lentiscos, or different aromatic plants typical of the Mediterranean mountain, between an infinite maze of granite "bowls," will open our way to a private estate where we will have total exclusivity to make waiting by trying to observe the Iberian Lince (reduced groups).

In these farms, different actions have been carried out for the recovery of their main food, the rabbit, which have served to set up territories of adult breeding, being its area of champion, rest and reproduction.

Of course, watching without filling your stomach is complicated, so we include a breakfast and picnic lunch of local products to taste in the field.
